Assessment of teaching economic geography by testing

Summary
Intensification of testing the students’ know-how will lead to achievements in the process of education. In this connection, tests have a definite role and place.
The author of this article deals with the significance of didactic tests for the more thorough and better mastering of the subject, as well as for the students' mental development.
The categories, used for establishing the experimental results, were the quality of the students’ knowledge and ability to employ their mental activity. In the „quality of knowledge“ category we include formation of geographical concepts, analysis of causalities and emloyment of knowledge, The second category includes employment of students’ mental activity in a typical or a new situation. The control questions have been formulated according to the principles of developing education.
The didactic tests in economic geography are widely used together withe other methods of assessment of the students’ knowledge and abilities.
This article is a result experimental research in a number of schools in Sofia under the author’s direction.
