THE INFLUENCE OF MAN’ S ACTIVITIES ON SLIME LODGEMENT IN THE RESERVOIRS

(Summary)

Man’s activities influence the processes of slime lodgement in the reservoirs in two ways: a) by afforestation of catchment areas, restriction of erosion, right tilling of steep plots of land construction of fortifying equipment and facilities to prevent the sediments from transportation; b) by deforestation of catchment areas and formation of local erosional centres.

The author has worked out diagrams and used data related to experimental observations, ore exploitation and creation of cesspools which increase or decrease the sediment accumulation in the rivers and hence, lead to its cessation or rapid growth in the reservoirs. By tables and diagrams is clearly illustrated how the anthropogenic factors affect the slime lodgement in the reservoirs.
