ANTHROPOGENIZATION AND PROBLEMS ON THE LANDSCAPE PROTECTION AND OPTIMALIZATION IN SOFIA VALLEY

(Summary)

The largest among the valleys extended between the Balkan Range and the Sredna Gora mountains is the Sofia valley. Its landscape structure has been considerably changed as a result of anthropogenic activities. These changes, affecting the landscape components, are of different intensity and nature.

The article emphasizes the importance of technological aspects for optimalizing the relationship between man and nature which is analyzed on a regional scale.    

The environmental pollution in Sofia valley evokes adverse social, economic and ecological consequences. The authors discuss which are the reasons having worsened the quality of natural resources within the area under investigation. Further on, they clarify the problems on protection and optlmalization of landscape components and comllexes and recommend how from a scientific point of view to take care of them in the valley.
