STRUCTURE OF THE VERTICAL LANDSCAPE DIFFERENTIATION IN KRAISHTE

Summary

Out of all regularities influencing the landscape differentiation of the researched territory, the vertical zonality is of special importance. It points out the natural complexes which are best expressed in the treatment of the so-called altitudinal landscape spectres. The latter explicitly illustrate the existing altitudinal zonality.

The elaborate analysis of the particular groups and types of landscapes leads to the acceptance of the concept that there are two main types of altitudinal landscape spectres in the Kraishte area. The former type, called the South-Kraishte type, characterizes the regular differentiation of Submediterranean landscapes, while the latter, the Central-Kraishte type characterizes landscapes of mesophilous and hygrophilous mountain forests and mountain meadow landscapes. Thirteen spectre variants which differentiate between the regional units of lower taxonomy rang have been worked out.
