LANDSCAPE DIFFERENTIATION OF THE CHIRPAN RAPID

Summary

Landscape development in the central parts of the Thracian lowland refers to the development of the Chirpan rapid during the Quarternary. As a result of its neotectonic development and hydroclimatic characteristics within the area of the rapid there have been differentiated three indipendent landscape: Zetyovsky, Marishky and Khassarsky. On the basis of the horizontal and vertical structure’s characteristics there have been established the existing differences in the landscapes as well as the role of the rapid in the formation of the natural territorial complexes to the east and to the west of the rapid.
