PECULIARITIES IN THE TERRITORIAL DISTRIBUTION AND THE TRENDS OF ILLEGITIMATE BIRTHS IN BULGARIA

Summary

For a longer period of time illegitimate births in the country show essential differences — 2,3% for 1931—1934 period and 10,9% for 1980—1982 period. In the first decades patriarchal norms of behaviour were observed by the youth, especially in the villages. In the contemporary conditions of accelerated urbanisation traditional norms of behaviour have been infringed by the rising generation. The factors influencing the dynamics of illegitimate births are rather complex and interrelated. They can generally be grouped into social and economic factors. As for the coming generation it is necessary to work out a complete programme for systematic schooling in the problems of intimate relations and family life.
