RATE OF INCREASE OF THE TOWNS IN BULGARIA FOR 1946—1982 PERIOD

Summary

On the basis of the rate of increase of the towns in Bulgaria for 1946—1982 period they are divided into 7 groups: 1. up to 0,99 times, i. e. 45 towns show decreasing rate, which is 19, 07%; 2. from 1,00 to 1,99, i. e. 87 towns, which is 36,86%, have slightly increased; 3. from 2,00 to 2,99, i. e. 63 towns, which is 26,69%, show medium rate of increase; 4. from 3,00 to 3,99, i. e. 29 towns, which is 12,29%, show high rate of increase; 5. from 4,00 to 4,99, i. e. 8. towns, which is 3,39 %, show very high rate of increase; 6. from 5,00 to 5,99 — only one town— the town of Dimitrovgrad; 7. over 8,00— 4 towns show extremely high rate of increase. Five towns in total, which is 1,70% of all the towns, comprise 7-th and 8-th group. On the basis of these data 9 prognoses for the future development of the towns have been made.
