Summary

The development of Sofia town territory structure as an important prerequisite and a necessary condition for the improvement of its planning and management is discussed in the material. Some capital problems are presented as follows: the dwelling and demographic problem. The formation of R&D and productive common zones and the administrative division of Sofia town as a whole; the supply-problem and the by-town agricultural system; the role of transport system for the development of the capital’s territory structure.

Special attention is payed to the complex social services, the water-supply, the problems of the environment and other ecological problems, sport, tourism, etc. Some concrete proposals are made for the future development and the total management of Sofia town territory complex.

The necessity of constant and systematic analysis of the changes taking place in the complete territory structure is specially underlined.
