Summary

The author went into the problem concerning the process of disappearing of eight villages: Kassinetz, Radovyan, Gorno Kraiste, Sredno Kraiste, Dolno Kraiste, Durvodeltzy, Palleina and Krushovitsa during the period of XV-XIX c. in the neighbourhood of the town of Vratza. For the purpose of defining the locality, the origin and the meaning of the names of the above mentioned villages the author used local geographical names – toponyms, relics of destructed churches, ancient tombs, folk legends and demographic data from records. On the base of lots of historic facts and events the author showed the reasons for these villages to disappear from the face of the earth.
