Abstract

The manuscript provides an overview of several prominent web-based sources of geospatial information that can be used to complement, and under certain conditions substitute traditional sources of data. Each potential data source is critically reviewed. The advantages and disadvantages outlined in the article would allow informed decisions concerning the use of those sources.
