Summary

The regional policy activities in the industrial countries has begun in the early years of this century. Its development has gone through four stages, and today it has its own importance along with the economic policy. It deals with the problems of the regional development in every separate country, particularly in three basic types of problematic regions: underdeveloped (backward), depressive and regions of the large agglomerations. At the last stage neoconservative tendencies are traced down in the application of regional policy. Its approaches and results provoke much discussions.
