Summary

Under the influence of the quick industrialisation in different parts of our country took part many important changes in the geographic environment which at least helped to be formed a new industrial-urban landscape. In the process of their industrial activity many plants and factories put out in the environment significant qualities of harmful gases, aerosols and waste waters, which make the life conditions for the population exclusively insutable and help the arising of many diseases. A great part in the changing of the geographic environment takes the large inbedment of chemistry in all spheres of life, so as the use of radioactive isotopes.

All those changes in the geographic environment in our country put before us with a greater importance the problems of protecting and improving the health of our population, of forming of optimal conditions for living and work. To reach this highly human purpose medical geography has also to play its part, because it explores the environmental conditions, their territorial subdivisions from the view-point of human health.

The main task of medico-geographical explorations is the unveiling of laws of the integral influence of natural and socio-economic conditions in a given territory on the arising and spreading out of different diseases and pathologic conditions.
