ON THE PERIODISATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND TERRITORIAL LOCATION OF THE MACHINEBUILDING IN BULGARIA

(Summary)

In the report is made the first attempt to establish and characterise the basic periods and subperiods in the development and territorial location of the machinebuilding in Bulgaria, taking into account thegeneral trends and tendencies in the development of the industry and the national economy.

By retrospective analysis of the machinebuilding three basic periods are established in its development: precapitalist, capitalist and socialist. A scheme is elaborated for the periodization of the branch by determining the subperiods within the framework of each basic period. A quantitative assessement is given of the development of the machinebuilding during the corresponding period, as well as the characteristic features of its territorial location A significant part is devoted to the third basic period, the socialist and espicially to the subperion 1961- 1975. It is shown that during thae period the branch structure of the machinebuilding takes shape and the basic forms of its territorial organization begin emerging — machinebuilding regions, mahinebuilding complexes and centers.
